How to add friends

When you arrive on a athlete’s profile page that you are not already connected to, you will see a number of actions down the left hand navigation bar. This button always appears down the left hand side of an athlete’s profile with whom you are not already connected. Click this button and you’ll open the Friend Follow dialog. Here you will be presented with two options: “Add to Watch List” and “Send a Friend Request” Add to Watch List When you want to keep an eye on a firebreather athlete, but you don’t really “know” them - this button comes in handy. You can add an athlete to your watch list, and they don’t have to approve the request. After you add an athlete to your watch list, their workouts and progress will show up in your stream. Your workouts, however, will not show up in this athlete’s stream until you officially become FlexFWD friends. The Watch List allows you to follow inspiring athletes posts and comments, and compare your own time to theirs. Send a Friend Request You can send a friend request to an ahlete that you know on a personal level. He or she will be sent a friend request that they will have to approve before you become friends. Once your friendship is confirmed:

• Your workouts will be visible to that user.
• Their workouts will be visible to you.
• You can send private messages to this athlete.

Search for athletes

This simplest way to search for athletes is via the “Search (Users, Groups)” search drop down which is always visible on the top bar of the site. Just start typing a users name or group’s name(ie. a specific Crossfit gym’s name) and results will be populated into the drop down box. Another way to search for athletes is from the Community -> Athlete page. http://flexfwd.com/Community/Athletes This page allows you to search for athletes that may be at a similar level to you, or live in your community, or perhaps possess a similar body type to yours.

Finding your contacts (gmail, yahoo, hotmail)

Another way to locate your friends on FlexFWD is to search through your contacts. From your profile page, click on the “Connect” button. This button is located down the left hand side of your profile. This will take you to the “Find Invite” page. You can now click on the service that you use to store your contacts (gmail, yahoo, hotmail). Once you have granted FlexFWD access to your contacts you will be shown a list of found members. There will also be an opportunity to invite some of your contacts, if you wish to do so. (Note: FlexFWD does not store or sell any of your contact information)

View Group Members, or Friends of Friends

Whenever you are on a groups or users profile page you will see a short list of members or friends that they have. Click the “see all” link to take you to a list of group members or friends of the user. Here you will be able to send friend requests to anyone in the list.
